Hi, my name is Rodrigo Pontes! I'm an Computer Science student and Arch Linux enthusiast from Brazil. I am finishing my Bachelor's degree at Georgia Tech, and like tinkering with tech projects and playing video games in my free time. You can find some of my recent discoveries by reading my blog posts!
Most recently, I have interned at Bloomberg L.P. and developed a React.js web app with a Python back-end that automated the rollout of some of their client facing applications. I am also a Senior TA for Georgia Tech's Data Structures and Algorithms class, and am currently working on a visualization tool to help students learn the material.
Before coming to college, I developed three Android apps - a WhatsApp add-on which brings Facebook Messenger chat bubbles to WhatsApp, a HTTP file sharing server, and a mental arithmetic game - which have reached over 2,800,000 downloads. I have also developed a lightweight and parallelized Android SDK for BigHive, a startup that aggregates and processes location data.
Developed scripts for the continuous integration pipeline of the DevOps team at Itaú Unibanco, the largest bank in the Southern Hemisphere.
Was selected to be a Senior TA for Georgia Tech's Data Structures and Algorithms class, one of the largest CS classes at Georgia Tech, and am currently working on a visualization tool to help students learn the material.
